The morning for getting to know the past and industrial minning heritage of the NALTAGUA town (which means “place of Nalcas” in mapudungun), in Isla de Maipo. Set within beautiful surroundings, this visit blends historic discovery and hiking through ruins and abandoned shafts. – the afternoon is left to enjoy the marvellous wines at the Martino Winery, where you will be received with a delicious lunch, followed by a wine tour and wine sampling.
ITINERARY
08:00 am – Pick up from your hotel.
09:00 am – Welcoming introduction at the Nuestra Señora de La Merced Sanctuary: a brief talk about the history of the town and a visit to one of the main architectural landmarks.
10:00 am – Arrival to San Vicente de Naltagua, visiting and trailing through the mining town.
11:00 am – Soft hiking (suitable for all) through the mining ruins of “El Escorial” and viewpoints over the Maipo River, the Coastal Range and the Maipo Valley.
12:00 pm – This tour service ends at the Nuestra Señora Sanctuary.
13:00 hrs – Lunch at Viña de Martino (winery).
15:00 hrs – Tour with wine tasting.
17:00 hrs – Return to Santiago.
